Mary Ann Owens, Executive Director
Mary Ann was involved with the Miss America program for 25 years, directing four local titles in the Miss Metro St. Louis family. During her time on the board and as the Executive Director, the Miss Metro group had five titleholders win Miss Missouri in both the teen and miss pageants. She has also served as a judged at both the local and state levels across the country. Professionally, Mary Ann is the CEO of the Woman’s Safe House, the oldest domestic violence shelter west of the Mississippi. She lives in the historic Shaw neighborhood in St. Louis.

Bree Bowen, Marketing Director
Bree was part of the Miss America Organization for 25+ years as a contestant, volunteer, and judge. She has a background in dance and is a former Rams Cheerleader. Bree works in politics and has worked on the past three Presidential Campaigns and managed statewide and local races. Currently, she is a Legislative Assistant for the Board of Aldermen in the 6th Ward for the City of St. Louis. She is a past board member of the Crime Victims Advocacy Center and served as the staff representative on the Board of Trustees at Saint Louis University. Bree has one son, Brett, who is a junior at Southeast Missouri State.

Rebecca Farris, Fundraising Director
For over a decade, Rebecca worked in public policy, both locally and in Washington D.C. For the last decade, she has served on the board and is currently the Vice President of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association at Washington University. An Illinois native, Rebecca held various titles in the Miss America Organization. She has been judging pageants for 30 years at the local and state level and is a certified Miss America judge. Rebecca is an avid traveler and close to achieving her bucket list goal of visiting all 50 states.

Phil Shipman, Finance Director
Phil is a hairstylist with training in London, Amsterdam, and many educational institutions in the United States. He also served as the educational director for the Missouri Cosmetology Association. In 1992, he opened the Philip Johnson Salon/Spa in the Central West End where he spent time focusing on training and promoting his service providers in their career paths. He recently sold the salon and retired but stays active in professional organizations locally and nationally. Phil was a member of the Miss Metro St. Louis/River City Board of Director for over 25 years and has judged pageants throughout Missoouri.

Aj Surrell, Contestant Director
Aj was crowned Miss Missouri Volunteer 2024 in January 2024. She was recognized as a top 20 contestant at the Miss Volunteer Pageant in Jackson, TN. Aj is a graduate of Lindenwood University with a Masters of Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis and a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations, minors in Theatre and Digital Marketing. Aj works professionally in the world of digital marketing and serves with a number of arts nonprofits across the St. Louis area. She is also a performer at The Improv Shop of St. Louis. Aj serves on the Different Dynamics Inc. Board of Directors Member, as choreographer for the Ignite Company Youth Theatre Troupe, and recently won the Broadway World Best Choreography of a Musical award. Aj resides in St. Louis with her wife, Alleigh.

Randy Weller, MMV Cares Director
Randy’s career spans 35 years with one global financial services firm, including local, national and international assignments. His expertise is community development, with an emphasis on supporting economic empowerment. He has served on over 30 local nonprofit boards and committees. After retiring from corporate life in early 2024, he now serves as Executive Director for a local nonprofit. Randy has supported pageants through judging, volunteering, and parade participation. When he is not having fun with family or volunteering, he can typically be found at the gym.

Terri Rohlfing, Production Liason
Terri has been a classroom teacher in art, English, speech, and literature for longer than she cares to admit. She has been recognized by the National Middle School Association as one of the nation’s “Teachers Who Make A Difference”. She has judged numerous speech contests and remains active in community and regional theatre where she has directed, acted, and taken on technical duties. Terri serves on the board of directors for MU’s Museum of Art and Archaeology and the Fayette Area Community Trust. She and her husband reside on their family farm in rural central Missouri where, her husband, Chris, jokes, he “farms just enough to keep him out of trouble and out of extra cash.”

Kim Welton, Volunteer Director
Kimberley was an active pageant competitor during her high school and college years. Some of her best friends today are women she met competition. She’s coached many girls preparing for pageant competitions and was a motivational speaker for several years, encouraging youth to have integrity in all aspects of life. Kim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Webster University. Currently, she is a full-time mom and teaches dance at Studio-C in Arnold, MO. She lives in St. Louis with her husband, Dave, and they have three children.

Brooklynn Bryant
Brooklynn is a Speech Language Pathologist working in secondary education providing therapy services at Fort Zumwalt East High School. As a former pageant competitor, she has a love for empowering young women to chase their dreams. Brooklyn was Miss Missouri Superstar 2022 and placed 3rd runner-up to Princess of America Superstar. She competed in both the Miss America and Miss Volunteer Programs. Brooklynn’s love for singing and performing on stage pushed her to start competing at the age of 14. She is looking forward to marrying her fiancé, Robert.

Danielle Baker
Danielle is an aesthetician passionate about helping others feel confident in their skin. She has noticed a common theme among her clients - many consistently struggle with self-esteem issues related to their skin. Determined to make a difference, she created her brand, Skin Esteem with Danielle. Working closely with her clients to identify their skin concerns and create a customized plan, she quickly grew her business and gained a reputation for her personalized approach. As a former pageant contest in the Miss America system, Danielle brings a wealth of knowledge to the board. She and her husband, Ryan, recently welcomed their daughter, Kennedy.

Rodney Rohlfing
Rodney has been working with pageants for over three decades. He founded and was the director of Miss Randolph County Fair Pageant (IL) for several years and has worked with contestants from the county fair system to the Miss America system. He has judged countless pageants across systems and ages. Rodney has been a hairstylist and personal appearance specialist for over 45 years and worked with celebrities like Ellie Kemper and Glenn Close. He and his wife, Lisa, have two adult children and live in Steeleville, IL.

Shannon Steingraeber
Shannon is a board certified music therapist for Mercy and has been piano and voice instructor for 40 years. Throughout her career, she has produced a St. Louis young artist medalist, a Disney American Idol Golden Ticket Winner, and served as a prep studio for past Miss and Teen titleholders in multiple systems. She has also worked with award winning local high school thespian musical actors. Shannon has performed as a pianist in the St. Louis area and for the St. Louis Ballet Nutcracker Tea. She has extensive performance experience as a former NBA cheerleader, local theater productions, and traveling performance with the Singing Aces. She is a past chairman for the Saint Charles County American Colleges and Universities Piano Guild and Saint Louis Music Teachers Association and National Federation of Music Teachers Association.
